↓ Staff Report
The Transportation and Public Works Department is presenting the public outreach campaign for the Greenway Connectivity Study, which seeks resident input on how to connect the Prince Memorial Greenway to the future Southeast Greenway across Santa Rosa. The study offers three alternatives combining protected bike lanes and neighborhood greenways along different routes—one through Sonoma Avenue and Hahman Drive, another through Doyle Park and Hoen Avenue, and a third using neighborhood streets like Charlies and Vallejo Streets. An online survey open through July 31, 2026 asks residents about their preferences and whether they travel with children, have mobility limitations, or carry items like groceries, to ensure the final design serves all ages and abilities; the city received federal Thriving Communities Program funding to support this work and will pursue the preferred alternative for final design and funding once the survey closes.
7.3General BusinessPRESENTATION - COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT GRANT UPDATE:
The Community Advisory Board will receive an update on the Community Improvement Grants program.
7.4General BusinessMOTION - COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT GRANTS DETERMINATION - VINCE HARPER’S SOUTH PARK DAY & NIGHT FESTIVAL BACKGROUND: The Community Advisory Board (CAB) reviews and approves the 2026 Community Improvement Grant Applications. The Board shall award grants to the applicants whose projects best meet the criteria. There are two grants that have been submitted for the July-Aug 2026 period: EFZM Engage is requesting $2,500 to support the 2026 Harper's South Park Day & Night Festival, a free community event that connects families with essential health, wellness, and community resources. The festival provides free food, entertainment, a family movie, prizes, vaccinations, reading glasses, and resources. Building on the success of last year's event, which offered on-site vaccinations and vision services, EFZM Engage plans to continue these services and expand access by hopefully adding dental care. The festival promotes health, education, and community engagement while increasing awareness of available services and programs.
The council will decide whether to award $2,500 in Community Improvement Grant funding to EFZM Engage to help support Vince Harper's South Park Day & Night Festival, a free community event offering food, entertainment, health services including vaccinations and vision care, and connections to community resources.
7.5General BusinessMOTION - COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT GRANTS
